From the streets to the parks - images of the city - some recent, some "vintage"

annsan > Looking Uptown from Union Square. The lens used was a Pentax SMC-A 50mm f1.4 on the Canon Rebel Body... The f stop was 5.6. This photo and one other of mine are among those in a new book published by the members of the Pentax Discuss Mailing List (PDML) with all profits going to National Childhood Cancer Research. It was edited by photographer Mark Roberts and you can see and read more about it here: http://www.robertstech.com/pdmlbook/

lunch on a pigeon.
annsan > Lunch in Tompkins Square Park - Young redtail hawk bagged a pigeon. A friend called me to tell me he was there
in a fairly low branch - I grabbed the camera and bolted out. Unfortunately, the light was kinda bad and I needed to
shoot at 800 to 1600 to get much of anything. This was from the angle those guys in the "watch the birdie" shot
had... after I moved to the other side.

annsan > 9th street station - The exif data doesn't tell the whole picture (no pun...) Whenever I shoot with my manual Pentax SMC 28 mm f2.8 prime on my Canon Rebel, it says the aperture is 2.0 I'm pretty sure I took this shot at 5.6 or f 8 and set the lens to the hyperfocal distance. Set the camera on the arm of the bench I was sitting on.
