  • My father, Arthur E. Blackstone, was the Chicago District Manager for Dictaphone from about 1923 to 1945. Here he is using the Dictaphone in our car... but I'd like to know what car.... we got a Studebaker President in 1941, but I'm pretty sure this ain't that.. in fact, now that I see photos of the studie you havent' seen yet, i know it isn't...
Anyone??? I'm looking for more pictures from before 1941 with a car in it.

I think we are on the Blue Ridge Parkway here... have better shots technically (that is sharper, clearer because my mother took them) - but this shows the whole silhouette. I'm in the driver's seat here. I'm observing that all the photos my pop took are soft focus and shaky... the ones my mother took are all much sharper.

  • I sent this link to the Pentax Discuss List and 3 old friends who live in the Great Lakes Area... Got instant response from one by phone. He recognized the bridge immediately... Mr. Google's images confirmed it in spades. This was on the ferry to Boblo Island on the Detroit River and the bridge is the Ambassador.

  • This is the roof garden at what was once the St Clair Apt. hotel on Ohio Street in Chicago . We lived there for a few years. It is now the Best Western Inn of Chicago. In 1998 I was able to go up to the roof , although it had much changed, the grill work had not.
